How you will learn
You can work your way through this qualification along an organised step by step path. This can be done with a mix of work books and on line materials with recognition of your prior experience and learning (RPL) where applicable. If you are already working in management, and in HR in particular, you may qualify for all or part of this Diploma through recognition of your existing skills. You receive personalised attention from your teacher all the way through your qualification whether it be by recognition or study.
Career opportunities
Graduates will complete the program with skills and knowledge recognised by business professionals in small and large organisations across a wide range of industries. This is a Nationally Recognised Qualification.
Pathways to further learning
Diploma graduates can undertake further study in a range of other qualifications including Advanced Diplomas or degrees. A Diploma gives you a tertiary entrance score of ~83 (OP 9) which provides entry to a wide range of degrees. Many universities offer credits up to one year for this Diploma.
Duration
This course usually takes a year for those who have little work experience, but students with experience in the workforce can complete it in less time if they choose to accelerate their learning. The maximum timeframe is 2 years. Students with experience in the area and qualifying for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can complete in a matter of weeks.
Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification, with the exception that students who have English as a Second Language must have an IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent.
Program units
To obtain this qualification, students will complete 9 units. There are six core units and they are:
BSBHRM501 Manage human resources services
BSBHRM506 Manage recruitment selection and induction processes
BSBHRM512 Develop and manage performance-management processes
BSBHRM513 Manage workforce planning
BSBWRK510 Manage employee relations
BSBWHS401 Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements
AQI offers 3 electives to compete this Diploma:
BSBDIV501 Manage diversity in the workplace
BSBFIM501 Manage budgets and financial plans
BSBPMG522 Undertake project work
There are many other units which can be processed through recognition of your existing skills which may substitute the above electives. There are also opportunities to pair this Diploma with other qualifications such as the Diploma of Business where units may overlap. This provides a second Diploma with reduced study and cost. We will discuss what is best for you, with you, and develop an individual training plan before you to commit to enrolment.
Course fees
Fees for all qualifications are clearly displayed on our website. AQI works hard to keep these affordable. Where there is recognition that you already have the required skills the fee is reduced.
National Recognition
This qualification is nationally recognised and taken from the Australian BSB Business Services Training Package.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Do you already have experience? Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) takes into account the knowledge and skills you have already gained through your previous education and work. You can earn recognition for this qualification if you have completed relevant formal or informal training or have the relevant work experience and can demonstrate the skills and knowledge required.
