I learnt a new word today😊 rapprochement . After the two egos battled it out in Singapore – one who has mostly shied away from the world press one who seeks it every hour – I complained that is was still swamping the news. My partner said “ah well if it does lead to a rapprochement then perhaps it will be worthwhile” – I could see he was not convinced with his own words. Following the admission I did not know what it meant I looked it up – ‘Definition of rapprochement – (especially in international affairs) an establishment or resumption of harmonious relations’, https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/rapprochement‘. It comes from the French word rapprocher -“to bring together”. It could be useful but for the fact most will not know what you are talking about.
